Freddie Jones, known as “Freddie J”, began her career in cosmetology in 1993 and has become one of Dallas’ Premier Hair Stylist. Freddie attended some of the top hair design companies and academies in the country such as Dudley, Pivot Point and Tony & Guy where she decided that her specialty would be haircutting. She is now considered one of the industries’ leading haircutting specialist and high fashion platform artist. Freddie travels across the nation to trade shows and seminars teaching and sharing information with licensed stylist. Freddie J is the founder and CEO of International Hair Symposium (IHS), which includes hair competitions and advanced training classes for stylists and barbers in the Dallas/FT. Worth area; in addition, she launched a series of educational DVD’s providing stylists with new and innovative hair cutting techniques. Her work has graced the pages of many national publications including Essence and Hype Hair magazine.
In 2002, she won the first place prize of $10,000 at the Bronner Brothers Hair Battle Royale, in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2007, Freddie was chosen to compete in the Bronner Brothers Hair Battle 60th Year Anniversary Celebration. Freddie is a national television personality-- she was featured in the pilot season of the reality show “Tears Shears and Beauty” on BET. She was also featured in the 2009 Chris Rock documentary film titled “Good Hair”.
Freddie received special recognition from the City of Dallas and Mayor Tom Leppert, in 2011 as being one of Dallas’ leading business women, stylist instructor and trailblazers in the field of cosmetology. In 2013, at the Bronner Brothers International Hair Show she placed 3rd place in the Trendz Tournament of Champions Competition in Atlanta Georgia.
