Stylz by CC

How long did it take for your skills to progress to where you could see that you were really great at hairdressing?

"My skills as a stylist have always been there. My creativity and styling techniques changed of course over the years but I have always been an innovative and creative individual. Styling always came natural."

What products and tools do you have to have?

"My list of must haves include Olive Oil Relaxer, Olive Oil Organic Root Stimulator Spritz, my leopard print scissors and my favorite purple comb!"

Do you offer any training classes?

"At this current time no, I am NOT offering any training classes."

How has your experience been as far as support from other stylists? Do you think stylists encourage and are inspired by you when they see how good your work is or are they threatened?

"This is a tricky one lol I can say the support and encouragement from other stylists has been about 50/50 I have some true die hard "Stylz by CC" fans that have been congratulatory and have let me know that I have inspired them on many levels and in many ways. But of course smh I have a couple that are definitely threatened by my skills."

What do you feel you're best at? (cutting, weaves, color etc)

" My strong suit of course is CUTTING hands down!"

In your opinion is the natural hair movement a passing phase, or have women learned to embrace their natural hair texture?

"The natural hair movement has really evolved I see more of my African American sisters embracing their natural texture. A phase u ask? ABSOLUTELY NOT.. and I really don't have a preference when it comes to relaxed or natural. I am just more familiar and knowledgeable when it comes to relaxed hair."

Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?

"Hmmm in the next three years I see myself traveling to different cities, styling a diverse clientele and giving empowerment and motivational speeches to cosmetology students about to enter the professional work environment."

What advice do you have for stylists and salons?

"My advice to other stylists would be to STAY HUMBLE, PROMOTE, CONTINUE LEARNING, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY FOLLOW YOUR HEART."
